CEO, Trombly International (formerly Trombly Ltd.)

Travels from Boston

In the trenches in Chechny. As a war correspondent for Reuters. As a foreign correspondent in Moscow. As a securities journalist in Wall Street. As a business woman outsourcing US journalism in China. When Maria Korolov is speaking, you feel the frontline is just around the corner. She is an energizing and enthusiastic speaker, who takes a very solid approach towards any subject she is covering.

From 2004 to 2009, she was based in Shanghai, as the SourceMedia bureau chief, managing a staff of up to a dozen journalists covering emerging markets financial services industries.

In 2006, building on her experiences running this bureau, she started an editorial outsourcing company in Shanghai, taking outsourcing in China to a new level. Today, the company — Trombly International (formerly known as Hong Kong-based Trombly Ltd.) — has accumulated an impressive roster of dozens of high profile business publications as clients, including Computerworld, The Hollywood Reporter, and many other magazines covering the global technology, finance, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.

She has recently been speaking at the Managing Automation conference in Las Vegas on the China Manufacturing industry, on insurance for a Kazakhstan journalism workshop and on war reporting for a panel at the Society of professional Journalists.

Additionally Maria Korolov can cover the Chinese securities industry reforms, China’s banking reform, Asian and Russian stock markets, freedom of speech, media training and how to get a story published in the business media.

Maria Korolov is also the COO of the China Speakers Bureau.
