Ma is a Member of both the Employment and Education Taskforce and the SMEs Cross-thematic Group at the Business 20 (B20), the global business advisory council for the G20, the world’s leading economic forum led by the top 20 economies’ heads of state. He is one of the few influential business and education leaders from the G20 economies appointed perennially as a B20 member through the G20 in Australia, Turkey, China, and currently Germany.

He is a World Chinese Economic Summit speaker and Global Advisory Council member. He’s been a Forbes Global CEO Conference delegate for 8 years. He is also a NYTimes Higher Ed Leaders Forum delegate, DC Finance speaker and Steering Committee member, a Kairos Society mentor, one of “The World’s Top Experts” and an investor for Audvisor, and an IfOnly luminary expert and speaker. Previously, he was an APEC CEO Summit delegate, a Thiel Fellowship mentor, a Pacific Basin Economic Council member, Silicon Valley-China Wireless Technology Association senior advisor (for 10 years), and founding chair of Asia-Silicon Valley Connection (ASVC)’s Charter Members Committee.

Ma led building the ASVC Charter Members Network, a microcosm of Silicon Valley’s top decision makers comprising general partners from elite venture capital firms, senior executives from large corporations, partners from top service providers, leading CEOs and entrepreneurs, and proven angel investors. At ASVC, he also led organizing and chairing major events and helped drive and spawn Silicon Valley’s high-level social networking movement before, through, and after 9/11 in 2001.

Ma earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley, where he is a guest speaker, donor, and Golden Bear Life Member. He also attended the evening MBA program at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. Originally from Hong Kong, China, Ma 馬老師 is fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin 中文.
